Me! Myself & I...
How I became a Nikaabi
I have always wanted to wear a nikaab! It was my choice! It still is my choice and it will always be my choice!
About 3 years ago, my hubby and I went for Umrah. I was soooo looking forward to it. I could hardly believe that I was really going! Tickets booked, visas done, bags not packed! Hehehe! Must have been of shock. I packed my bags the night before we left.
We were en route to Pakistan and going via Jedda, my lovely hubby said to me, " how can we be right there and not even perform and Umrah" SO we went to medina first then few days later off to Makkah!
What an experience! One I will never ever forget!
Just looking at the Kaba brought me to tears! I cried all through my tawaaf! I couldn't believe that I was chosen to go.
Long story short! leave out all the emotions and drama for now! After salaah, sitting on my mussallah, in my room, my mind went to a beautiful tasbeeh I saw at the stalls and wished that I could have it!
Anyways, in walks hubby, with 2 tasbeehs in hand, 1 for him and one for MOI! Anddddd!!!! Guess what tasbeeh??? The exact same one I was thinking of!
I don't think my heart ever smiled harder than that day!
We sat and had the discussion AGAIN! BTW, previously my hubby was always against me wearing nikaab! And I think he mostly feared that I wouldn't wear it for long! And would just give it up!
Our discussion: About me wearing a nikaab, I said to him, " this is not about you! This is about me! This is between me and Allah! And if Allah forgives my sins while I am here, how can I go back and sin again!"
Well that was that! He took me to the market, we bought the 3 pardas and a few days later we were off to pakistan. And I'm in love with my nikaab ever since then!
I cannot imagine my life without it! This is me! This is who I am!
S Nikaabi!
